Meghan F. Scura, RD, LDN, CLC

     Meghan Faith Scura is a passionate Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, who currently works at Berks Community Health Center (BCHC) as an Outpatient Registered Dietitian in Reading, Pennsylvania and recently completed over 1200 hours of supervised practice in dietetics with Sodexo Dietetic Internships, Allentown, in July 2018. Meghan's main career interest lies in clinical pediatric dietetics. She has completed over 285 hours in pediatric nutrition during her chosen Pediatric Concentration throughout the dietetic internship and is currently leading the Pediatric Nutrition Department at BCHC.

    Meghan was born and raised in Orlando, Florida and moved to Pennsylvania in 2009 to pursue her passion for dietetics at West Chester University of Pennsylvania.  She graduated with her Bachelor's degree in May 2014 and immediately started her career at the Philadelphia WIC Program in May 2014. Later, she was offered a position at the Chester County WIC program, where she worked as the Nutrition Education Coordinator, leading the nutritionists while providing evidence-based nutrition education to lower income populations throughout Chester County, PA.

   Meghan is currently certified as a Certified Lactation Counselor and uses this certification while working at BCHC. She has also been studying the Spanish language and currently uses these skills while speaking with her patients on an intermediate level.

​

     In her free time, Meghan volunteers for many organizations, including Toy For Tots and Rock Ministries in Kensington Philadelphia. She also enjoys running to raise money and awareness. Most recently, Meghan ran in the Chester County 5K Color Run to address the opioid and heroin problem in Chester County, Pennsylvania. She also ran the half marathon in Philadelphia for cancer research and the full marathon in Philadelphia, PA for the Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation.

     Meghan knows she is exactly where she should be and attributes this to her faith in God. Her faith means a lot to her, and she believes that she has the gift of service. In dietetics, Meghan knows she will serve with her gift in the best way possible: with empathy and passion.
