Camp Red Jacket is a free, 4-day, day camp for children 6 - 12 with Type I diabetes. We worked with a professional staff of certified diabetes educators, registered nurses, registered dietitians, certified insulin pump trainers, and certified registered nurse practitioners. The program is run by Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Helwig Health and Diabetes Center in partnership with the Loretti Fund.

Myself and another intern, Brandy Costa, designed and delivered the nutrition activities before snack times- we created a game using a MyPlate beach ball, MyPlate mat, and artificial foods. The final day was a MyPlate relay race.
